"The role of prevention in the promotion and protection of human rights"


At paragraph 15 of resolution 24/16, the Human Rights Council requested OHCHR, in consultation with States, national human rights institutions, civil society, relevant intergovernmental bodies and international organizations, and taking into account, inter alia, the outcome of the panel discussion held in September 2014 at the Council, to draft a study on the prevention of human rights violations and its practical implementation, and to present the study to the Human Rights Council at its thirtieth session. The Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights requested input from States, national human rights institutions, civil society, relevant intergovernmental bodies and international organizations regarding the prevention of human rights violations and its practical implementation.
