Human Rights Council
resolution 48/20 extended the mandate of the team of international experts to cover the entire national territory of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, beyond the Kasaï region of the country, while maintaining the previous mandate established by
resolution 38/20 to: monitor, evaluate, provide support and report on the implementation by the Democratic Republic of the Congo of the recommendations made by the
previous team of international experts in its
report, in particular with regard to the fight against impunity and the measures to promote reconciliation, and to make recommendations in this regard, as appropriate.
Through its October 2021 decision, the Council also requested the High Commissioner to present it with an oral update on the situation of human rights in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, in the framework of an enhanced interactive dialogue, at its 49th session (February/March 2022), and to prepare a comprehensive report on the situation of human rights in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and to submit it to the Council, in the framework of an enhanced interactive dialogue, at its 51st session (September/October 2022).
