CEDAW in your daily life
The Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women is composed of 23 independent experts who are persons of high moral standing and competence in the field covered by the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women.
Members are elected for a term of four years by a meeting of States parties, in accordance with article 17 of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women, consideration being given to equitable geographical distribution. Members serve in their personal capacity and may be re-elected if renominated.
