COMMITTEE AGAINST TORTURE
17th Meeting of States parties (Geneva, 3 October 2019, 10.00 a.m., Conference Room XX, Palais des Nations): election of members to replace the five current members whose terms expire on 31 December 2019
The Committee against Torture is composed of 10 independent experts who are persons of high moral character and recognized competence in the field of human rights.
Members are elected for a term of four years by States parties in accordance with article 17 of the Convention against Torture. Members serve in their personal capacity and may be re-elected if renominated.
A meeting of States parties took place in Geneva on 3 October 2019 to elect members to replace the five current members whose terms expires on 31 December 2019.
